Default Charge Circuit Resistor @ 0.011Ohms

Trying to sort-out a charging problem. Have read much of the history, including the recent exciter wire posting. Just replaced ignition switch, and mounted alternator with a pair of extra diagnostic leads. Haven't started car yet, but decided to review the circuit board while the pod is loose.

Am getting this reading (.011) across the two poles of the resistor, mounted to the PCB.

Should have 68 ohms on the resistor, right?

Has anybody else experienced failure of this resistor and replaced it?

Thanks, and, Happy New Year!

You need to completely remove/disconnect the resistor from the PCB to get it's true resistance.

Thanks. Am electrically challenged and I'm going to have to learn quick or get used to sitting in a stationary vehicle.

Removed it. Cleaned the terminals. Now I've got 68 ohms on the resistor, as marked on its face.

About 14 ohms on each of the little 1.2 bulbs, including the charge circuit bulb, which I know works.

9.9 ohms between the corresponding plug connector pins. Clean connections.

I'll reassemble and try it.
