Mike, that Jensen will do the trick for you. Don't sleep on Jensen stuff... there's something to be said for a company who's been around in the electronics business this long. My brother had Jensen 6x9s in his 1971 LeMans in high school and they sounded absolutely incredible, like he had a pair of 15" woofers in the trunk. Good luck!

Thanks Mike,
I can't wait to post pics, the rear seat delete is coming out really cool. In looking through the documentation for the Jensen 4/3/2 amp it looks completely adjustable, which is way more than the one I had before.
I wish it weren't so damned big, but I guess I'm in the minority these days. I just want to hear it, I don't want to see it.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
That MDF is pretty weighty too, but I think I'm going to cut a lot of it out to reduce weight and only leave what I need.

Hey everyone, I need a little more help here.
When I saw the documentation for the Jensen amp I'm using, set up for just the rear speakers and the 10" sub, it looked pretty straightforward.
I'm having trouble getting it to work right now.
The power is set up correctly, and I wired the two rear speakers each on channels one and two, then set the sub across the + of 3 and the - of 4. The sub sounds good, but I don't have any separation between the rear speakers. Either their both on or neither is on.
I'm trying to use the fader/balance to isolate the problem as I've done in the past, but I can't seem to figure out how to separate them.
Anyone got any ideas?
(PS- in case you hadn't guessed, I've never wired an amp before so I have NO idea how to wire it, but I haven't blown it up yet, so that's something).

I would start by telling us where the wires are coming from the stereo that you are hooking up to the amp? If you are just using the wires that normally would connect to the left and right fronts, then first remove the ch3 and 4 (unhook sub). Hook up the ch 1 and 2 to the rear speakers without going thru the amp. Do you get sound, can they seperate left and right now? If so, the setting has to be in your amp. Is there some kind of switch or something to change settings on the amp itself? Troubleshoot your left right issue first, then when you get this resolved, hook in your sub.

Hey CAshark,
I'm sorry, I didn't read my own earlier post, I thought I had listed the intended setup.
Here's what I'm trying to do:
Head unit with left and right front 4.5 inch speakers on 1 and 2.
4/3/2/ amp powering the rear speakers and a subwoofer.
I'm using a set of RCA cables and the amp-in line from the head unit (right and left rear out), so I can't put the rear speakers on that to test it.
The Jensen 840 amp has lots of settings that *I thought* I understood, but it's not giving me any separation so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I'll read the manual a few more times and maybe the light will go on.

Resolution:
Everything is up and running now! Apparently it helps to![manual](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rtfm.gif)
.
I thought the problem was in the amp, since that's the part I had never dealt with before. It turns out this particular head unit has a default setting for the rears to be set up for SUB OUT, so it was mixing the right and left internally. You have to change the setting to get it to split the channels to use an amp or separate rear channels.
Now everything is wired up perfectly! Thanks everyone. CAShark, you were on the right track, I just didn't know how to test it.

I just got the black leather ones from Rob Budd to replace my existing totally abused, dried and cracked originals (I actually put my knee through the DS one last week but I already had the replacements

I'll take pics and document it as I go. Tomorrow I have to track down some hog ring pliers...
