We took the 2010 6cyl, 6 speed R-Spec Coupe for coffee this afternoon, David our shop engineer doing the driving. Kinda scared the wits out of me.

This thing hauls, and grips. I'm thinking, straight line it would match a GT or GTS. It feels like a lower COG as well, because it railed some sweepers.

Apparently the 6 cyl is a big difference vs the T-4 engine. Engine and exhaust tune are A+

If some of the online 1/4 mile specs of 13.5sec are accurate then it will blow the GT and the GTS doors off in the 1320'.

Hate to say it but it seems like any sports cars newer than 2000 will take a 928 for a walk. I got smoked by a CLK500 and that only has 302HP. Sucker was a 2005 though with the 722.9. That is a 7 speed transmission. Fanstastic powerband. May surf craigslist for a cheapo to drive to and from work. The M113 will still be running even after a nuclear war.

My 928's always seem to have a lot of grunt. My 87S4 was really good, cams were tuned it seems (from the marks on it). And the GTS just leaps if taken out in 1st gear.

Years ago, I ran with a 2000 M3. He was behind me in a on-ramp - we were booting it. Onto the hiway, he swung into the left lane to overtake and couldn't do it .

Gave me the There's honest power in a 928, but it is built up on a squashed SUV by today's standards.

You guys have me thinking.... Shell is moving everyone from downtown to the west side of Houston, so no more bus commuting. I've been spoiled driving one of my 928's 4 miles each day to the parking garage at the bus stop, but now I will have to drive about 45 minutes in city traffic each way. I don't really want to put any of my 928s through that, so I've been thinking about a used car for the commute. Was thinking about an AMG, but this model may be the ticket! Good styling, fun to drive, decent gas mileage on regular gas, and reliable. There are lots of nice ones on CL in Houston.
