All four huge boxes arrived yesterday and I'm amazed at the shape everything is in. Everything is leather except for the console and door armrests (I thought rear QPs were vinyl). In all the parts there is only one small hole in one of the rear QP's, which I think I caused from stuffing the boxes into the back of a Yukon, which I think can be easily fixed.
I also broke one of the connectors underneath one of the seats when setting it down coming out of the box (dropped it, really --I have a cast on my arm at the moment), but that's also easily fixed.
There is a little sun damage on the top of the back seats, and the bolster on the door side of the driver's seat shows some wear, but nothing major. The door inserts are also made from the same color leather, but are extremely faded for some reason.
The carpet is in incredibly good shape, but I think I'll still replace it --thinking slate gray now.
Overall, I'm stoked! I'm going to leatherique the hell out of everything and re-dye it all the same color. I think the only pieces I don't have are sunroof-less headliner and shift boot (which I'll order from Mr. C. as soon as I figure out the color & dye situation).
It's got to be either Lipstick or Lobster red because it is lighter than my swatch of 3171 Red that GAHH sent me. Unfortunately, I can't find Lipstick Red on the GAHH site in the leather section, so I'll call them tomorrow.
In addition, I won the front & rear visors in separate auctions. The rears are leather, but the fronts are vinyl (in meticulous shape) --I'd be willing to trade the fronts for leather ones if anyone's interested.
So, I'm in for some big changes. I'll be ready to send the whole car to the painter as soon as I get my cast off and am able to strip the trim. I'll get started on the leather and if all goes well, will have a SWEET ride before SATL!
