Question Anyone know Bosch part #s for the different fuel accumulators?

I need a replacement fuel accumulator.

I need part 928 110 197 04
- Which (according to PET5) was used only on Euro models with VIN (1978) 9288101260 through (1979) 9289101297.

According to PET5, the US and Japan models made during this same time period use part 928 110 197 05.
- The VIN's for the cars using this part number are (US - 1978) 9288200054 through (1979) 9289201042 and (Japan 1978) 9288209521 - (1979) 9289209557.

I'd love to hear that these two Porsche part numbers are the same Bosch unit. It would make finding a replacement easier.

According to an online parts store I've found (and if you read it on the internet it must be true) the Bosch Fuel Accumulator #0 438 170 022 supercedes and replaces Bosch #0 438 170 018, 0438170018. Which is equivalent to Porsche #928 110 197 05.

Anyone have a source for the Bosch part numbers for these things?

Kary,
Looks like your numbers are correct. The Bosch 022 supercedes & replaces the 018 according to my info.
Basically the accumulator does the same thing so the issue may be about fitment.
I did a search and other people have experianced the same problem and fitted later units with success.
The 022 is 928 110 197 05 and sells for $169.95
Good luck,
Roger

IIRR some accumulators vent other side of membrane to atmosphere and others are connected to upper front corner of fuel expansion tank on top of right rear fender. Both types can be used as long as expansion tank hole is blocked.
