I have read most of the postings on A/C but haven't seen this problem. My A/C runs very cold when set to 65. If I move it off 65 it sometimes goes hot and sometime works as designed. I know the problem has to do with the temp sensors. I was told the problem is usually the outside temp sensor because of its vulnerable position. I dug into that and everything looked good (clean even) As long as I was in there I removed the plug and soldered the wires together. I read about 50 ohms resistance. The next step is to look at the interior temp sensor, but I hate taking it all apart when it might be working then. Do I just need to replace the two actual sensors? Is there a check to see if one or the other sensor is too sensitive?

Look for a Rennlist thread called: "HVAC Vacuum Testing"
I used it for testing my A/C system. It's a great read.

When I was working on my AC, both of my sensors turned out to be bad. The little fan on the one inside had also become warped and did not turn anymore. I just adjusted it and it began working again - just a thought.

I replaced the interior sensor. I really thought this was going to fix the problem because when I tested the old one the ohm reading would go infinite when I applied a hair dryer to it. Unfortunately, I still have the problem. The system will work perfectly for awhile, then for no reason I can see start blowing hot. I hate to spend another $60 on the outside sensor if that is not going to help. Is there anything I should check out before ordering?

I have not had to replace my thermistors yet. If you find out the resistor value(10k, or 30K, etc..) if it's a rising or falling type you might be able to replace it a whole lot cheaper from an electrical shop. After you have the resistor in hand you just need to solder it in place.
Has anyone gone this route, or have the info on the interior and exterior thermistors?
