That's perfectly normal for ROW cars. Airbags became standard in middle of '91 MY in LHD ROW markets. Before that they were option only. It seems before mid '91 MY some cars were made with just optional drivers side bag too.

Dash was still old style in RHD cars up to end of '92 MY and thus UK '92 GTS only have drivers side bag.

It has something to do with how much wheels need to be inside fender line. Oddly this one do not have rear wheel arch extensions like some other cars from same period. They might have been removed some time in the past.

There were much more supple looking fender flares available in last MY's from Exclusive department. Most likely starting from '93 MY. They look almost identical to normal fenders but came with 8" front wheels. Tires were still same 225/45-17.

Since this is very likely Japanise model and still has average ROW VIN it is vely likely Japanise cars didn't have their own 956x-9xxx VIN sequence this late MY's anymore. It makes compiling complete VIN set and counting total cars made little easier.
