OK, I thought one in the picture was the Volvo ECU.
You can unsolder pins of the connector, or any component quite easily. The conformal coating isn't a problem. These boards are usually only single sided with no plated through holes, so component removal is straightforward. There are two rivets holding the 25 way to the PCB.
The 25 pins are easy to unsolder conventionally. If you are using the connector for a break out box, then unsolder all the small decoupling capacitors that are mounted on that circuit board that's on the back of the cennector

Most of the differences are on the right side near the large red component. Since they are near what appear to be power transistors, I assume that is the part of the board for driving the injectors.
Looking at all this LH 2.2 info on SAAb and Volvo boards reminded me of an idea I had a while ago. Using SAAB's Trionic system would be a good option for boosted 928s, but it would be very labor intensive to rewire the harnesses, add components, and crack the necessary pieces of code. SAAB and Volvo used add on boost boxes that are programmable. I've found several sites with SAAB APC info. Who wants a boost sensitive ECU for their supercharged/turbocharged LH 2.2 928? I wouldn't be surprised if it also worked with 2.3. SAABs and Volvos also use EZK.

Most supercharged 928s have repeatable boost vs rpm, so they don't need a boost controller. Turbos can have variable boost vs rpm and so need some adaptive contol on the igntion side.
With John Kuhn's twin turbo we found a simple trick to achieve this without the need for a seperate boost conroller.

I broke down tonight and cracked open my pristine spare un-sharktunable LH 2.2.
I think quality control was on vacation the day this was made since only 1/3 of the board is coated on each side. The number on the eprom (under the little plastic house) is 2287355527.
Ken, where is the Rev #? The only numbers I found that look like revisions are the sticker on the right with the Bosch part number 0 280 002 501 and "RT 004463", and at the top "FD 18.4". In these places your Rev 03 board says "RT 005022" and "FD 48.4"
The Volvo 541 that looks similar to your Rev 03 says "RT 018???" and "FD 20.4"

FYI the Volvo 541 with EEPROMs are pre-86.
Does anybody have a bin from a 928 LH 2.2? (preferably a Euro, but US is fine) I don't have an EEPROM reader/programmer to pull a bin from mine. I want to see if it will work in a SAAB LH editor.
