leather care in the cold?
It's down below freezing every night here right now; is it safe to put anything on the leather at all? Most of the leather care and conditioners look like they have water in them, I don't want it to freeze and then crack the leather. Or does anyone know if there are any products that are alright for use at or below freezing?

It's been gloomy for days. Not enough sunlight. There's always a very good chance everything will stay 'damp', and then freeze overnight, we haven't had a above freezing night in quite a while. And, I work nights, so I wouldn't even get to check. Even 'noonday sun' won't heat up the interior enough to dry it out. Guess it will have to wait till spring, and avoid driving in the car when the leather is cold and stiff, which is most of the time. I was just hoping there was some kind of leather conditioner that was not water based and would not freeze.

You can apply your conditioner now. Yes water is likely going to be one of the primary ingredients but water is just a solvent for the conditioner, and will evaporate quickly if you apply it and then take the car for a drive with the heat running. Most leather used in cars is pretty tough stuff I would apply the conditioner and go.

If it's not your DD, remove the seats and bring 'em indoors? I pulled mine, soaked them in Leatherique, stuck trash bags over the top and bottom, and let them soak for a few days. That way I could get all the surfaces when buffing them out.

Griots makes a great conditioner which I use on my wifes DD over the winter. Smells good, cleans well and conditions well.

Did all leather surfaces this morning; should be above freezing for a short while. Used Lexol; I know not everyone likes it, but it seems safe enough to start with. Thanks everyone!
