I bet this last RB928 is the one used the parking lot reverse doughnuts and reving next to the girls. Can hear it clunk going into 1st.
I stand corrected on that. There is no reason to believe from the backing out of the garage scene that it is an automatic. The stalling may not have been planned, but it looks more like the car was stopped, shut off and then started again.

I do remember a scene where the car is stopped and then shifted in the gear. In the process the back up lights flash. Perhaps that was after the pimp chase.

I wish there were more interior scenes from the movie posted. Anyone know of more images and clips on the net. Does anyone know a way to brighten up You Tube videos when they are playing. They almost always come out too dark on my screen.

Right now all three of them are down for one reason or another, which strenghtens her argument. Nothing wrong with having those parts in the garage. One never knows when you will need a 930 intercooler or a 944 oil cooler. Don't think she believes me though.

If anyone has any questions about the car please do not hesitate to call Lewis directly at (303)785-0846, he asked me to post his phone number here.

Wife was flippin channels on Sunday & ran across RB, & we were able to catch the last 1/3 of the movie again. Seems like I usually miss the 928 scenes, same as when I catch Scarface on the tube too! Watching RB again made me think of this car just happening to be on ebay at the same time. Someone with the $$ to buy it & restore it would definitely have a historic 928. Hope to see pics of it somewhere down the line in all its glory again.

I hate to start anything, but something is off here. I have bit my tongue since this auction started and I just can't hold it back anymore...

Look at the pass side door pix, the one where he is holding it open with his foot.... why is the jam chocolate? Maybe lighting?

Also look at the pix posted from the movie in this thread, the armrests do not match, the center consol and dash colors do not match.

The car is not pulling anywhere near what I thought. I think he needs to pull the auction and start over.

I think he is getting cheated. He needs to, one, take the car and have professional pix taken of it. He has the one with his foot holding open the door, WTF is that? Another of the undercarriage and parts/ rags/ bottles lying underneath it. This guy is a filmmaker and this is the best he could represent the car... It’s a disgrace.

Get a hold of Cruise, the kid who played Miles, the Pimp the ***** and see if they will sign the freaking thing if he donates something to charity…

Get a hold of Champaign and see if a deal can be worked on seat covers and he be paid at auction end if the guy doesn’t have the money.

And for god sake CLEAN IT UP

Get that appraised value off of there for god sake… Who cares what it was appraised at. That can only hurt him if it does take off.

Sorry to be so brutally honest.

There are always multiple Movie cars and they paint them all the same filming can not stop if a car has a problem. Just a quick not too shiney (reflections are bad for filming) splash of color not even up to Earl Scheib standards. My son in law recently sold two 1960s Stingrays two be used in the latest Startrek Movie it is a prequell of Kirk, Spock, et all in the Academy and Kirk drives a Stingray ! The Little Miss Sunshine VW van the main driver is an automatic which made all the "push starts" really silly But it is Movie Magic !

The door jamb? uh it looks like the same color as the exterior of the car, which was repainted anyway. If you read the auction you would know that the car has been repainted several times....

If you had read the thread you would know that the interior picture Porken posted is from when Lana knocks the car out of gear, which was a different car than this one......

I know Lewis has tried to contact Tom Cruise, but his efforts where not successful. You make it sound like its just a matter of making a phone call. And its not like Tom Cruise has the best image these days anyway....

Why? Those are the original seats and the decision to recover them should be left up to the new owner. It would sure look great with brand new seats but a cracked dash and missing/torn carpet...

Again why?? It was appraised by a reputable source, not some Joe Schmoe's appraisal service.....

fixed it for you

Lewis is not a filmmaker like you think, he is trying to get his break in the industry, and he tried to do it something he was passionate about, the 928 from Risky Business....
Instead of trying to point out how the car isn't the same or how dirty it is, I think we should support him because he found one of the cars that started it all for some of us....until I saw risky business I had no idea what a 928 was, I thought all porsches looked like 911's.

A+ for is effort. Try again. If he tried as hard as he did in the listing of this car. I can see why he did not get to him.

people dont want a dirt ball, If you think restoring the car to original condition is a bad thing you are mistaken.

becasue you just set a price for the car. Why would you do that?? lets say the dukes and hazzard car listed an appraised value of 35000.00. I bet bidding woudl have ended close to there.

he needs the money. Its my opinion he has not tried very hard with this car. You took this as me bashing him. Why dont you take it as some good advice. He is cheating himself out of a lot of money. If you want to make a million you have to look like a million... That car look like it is being sold like a wrist watch from a guy in a trenchcoat on the streets of NYC. that car was represented very very badly. Argu all you want, it is the truth I was the first one with the ***** to say it. Sorry you took it so hard.

Since it was mentioned..."According to Ben Jones ("Cooter" in the show), as well as builders involved with the show, 309 General Lees were used to film the series. Approximately twenty-three still exist in various states of repair. " There was no one General Lee but 309 of them They only "jump" once !

Tv / movies have created some interesting automotive myths ....like that cars explode when they drive off long before they hit anything just spontanously explode probably from the free fall acceleration...for that matter it is nearly impossible to get a gas tank to explode at all !! And how many kids took there first car off road 4 wheeling like the General Lee with no idea that cars really can not fly.

Of course he needs the money to finish his film. You are bashing him by trying to point out that the interior doesn't match, you are implying that it must not be the right car, same thing as with the "chocolate" door jamb.

If you want to give Lewis advice, call him and tell him, he does not post on rennlist, nor does he lurk, which is why he asked me to post his phone number.

You say the car was represented very badly, but if you take proffesional photographs and make it look awesome that's better?
Yeah the truth is that the car is in poor shape. It is obviously not his intent to restore it, if a museum buys the car they wouldn't restore it either.
How is it like a wristwatch from a trench coat in NYC?? Is it not a genuine car? Last I checked the wristwatches sold out of trenchcoats are either knock offs or stolen, which the car is neither of those. I think Lewis has been very honest about the poor condition of the car.

Maybe I am taking this too hard, Risky Business is one of my favorite movies, so I feel it necessary to defend the car when all the myths come out, like thats the car that was dumped in the water, look the interior doesn't even match, why is the exhaust different, etc etc.... I don't have anything against you personally (SharkAttack), Im just trying to stop all the disbelievers in this thread and I took you for one. I did not mean to offend, honestly
