Unhappy

Dart,
Another tragic fact of Insurance Life.
Did you know that the Insurance types have regular
'SEMINARS'. Usually, once a month some towns/cities more often. Essentially, this updates those 'IN' the insurance industry, to changes in thelaw/policy writing/ billing/ coverages ...Guest speakers, breakfast, lunch... perhaps a few drinks.
But, guess what? In many places these 'working'
seminars will quite often have several if not all of the big name product sellers in attendance at the same time. Allstate, Farmers, ...Unlike lawyers who at least pay lip service to ethics these guys 'CAN' gladhand, backslap and TALK about
YOU, your worth/wealth/possesions/insured value.
I see something wrong with both Attorney's and Insurance sales reps., competitors all, chumming up, meeting together socially, on the links, and phoning each other office to office while assuring the general public that all is well in their pursuit of the 'PUBLICS' best interest.
The fact that there is an insurance industry data base -that report you got- for sharing information that 'averages' a policy holders claims only bodes well for the insurance company not the policy holder, PERIOD!!! Think about how many people get involved in a claim with a person covered by the same company. How helpful could the rep. handling that case be? For sheer economy the same person is probably talking to both interested parties. Could just be me but do you think the rep. is thinking about you or the company? Furthermore, someone jump in here, I believe your representative, the one who initiated your policy in the first place gets a decreasing commission off of your policy over five years. Each rep needs to sign a bunch of us up preferably over a period of years-laddering- in order to keep his/her income safe from a total one year dry spell. Complain to your State Insurance Commission all you want, for the most part they worked in the industry and in the nicest possible terms they will, unwittingly, explain that this particular industry runs the show!!! Regulation be damned.
Gee, we promised our policy holders the moon but we lost our *** during the last Santa Anna...
mudslides, Mississippi flood, Kansas hailstorm, tornado... add your own... so we need to double the cost of last years policy charges to everyone in the the State of Alaska. Those people regulate themselves.
Sooner or later, Dart, we are all going to get hammered. They got you now, but lets see.... Zach-my son- is 14, and Kay-my daughter- is 13, so in roughly 3 years I should be bagging groceries or laying brick after work to just let my two yard apes terrorize the highways.
I should be alright though, I'm sure my Enron and K'Mart stock will bounce back by then....
Plus my part ownership in The Happy Hollow Gerbil Ranch has been paying great dividends for years.
See ya in the soup line. And whaterver you learn from this unpleasant experience pass it on to family and friends.
Hang in there.

John, Your right on about the insurance co. hanging us all out to dry and having lawyers in their corner assisting in the shake down.

But you forgot to mention the ex-lawyers /ex-judges / now- politician(s) who plays butt tag with those insurance co. rep's/Lobbyist.
-----------------------------------------
It must be noted that not all good lawyers are knowingly dishonest.

But it helps!
------------------------------------------
All kidding aside, when it comes to my family, our money and my 928, I am more then willing to pay a higher price for a good lawyer who knows how to manipulate the fine gray areas of the law, find and exploit every loop hole to protect our interests then one that sees everything in black or white.

So why wouldn't the CEO's of most Insurance Co. feel the same way?

Cheers

Max
