I met the owner of this car saturday in Sarasota, Fl. He has an add in the Suncoast Motorsports newsletter.

1987 Porsche 928S4 5-speed, Black on black, New 5.4 GTS spec Eibell Performance built engine. 15K in engine rebuild alone. Have all receipts 500miles on engine....very fast. Many other Eibell repairs & tweaks. $27.5K OB.

A buddy of mine has been keeping his eye out for a good '87+ 5 speed as well. I don't know if his interest has cooled, but I may be checking out the '88 5 speed in the DC Craigslist that Courtshark mentions. The seller is only a few miles away.
I'd be glad to provide details on it if I get by there.

This is the link to the Black S4, 5 speed on ebay with 22 hrs. left. Does anyone know any history on this car? Has anyone called the guy or know the reserve amount?

Also is anyone bidding on it. I am thinking about it, I only live about 3 1/2 hrs. away, but don't what to get into a bidding war with someone that really wants the car.

David, looks nice. However if that doesn't pan out, it goes above your price range, or the reserve isn't met, you may want to look into the one on Craigslist. I haven't gone to see it yet, as my buddy hasn't gotten back to me...but I'm looking for an excuse to swing by and check it out. If you want me to be your eyes, let me know.

he lives 15 min from me. A rennlist was interested in the car and I offered to take a look at it. I am still waiting for the owner to call me on my cell, he said he was going to. Its been about 3 months, lol, the other person bought another car so it really don't matter. But if someone wants to setup an appointment to inspect my car, I will call them ASAP.

Only odd thing is the engine replacement, old one threw a valve.....

I would definitely do a PPI or look closely at records to make sure maintenance is somewhat up to date.

Who sells that cross brace and is it CF or Aluminum?
