Taken literally, this would mean pre- US 83/option euro late 80.

Most of my '81 upgrades are really downgrades, in order to get the weight down.

Biggest bang for the buck, for me?

Looks - HID projectors/custom covers
Looks - 21mm rear wheel spacers
Handling - S4 8" rims
Handling - rear aluminum bumper removal
Performance - rear AT cooler
Performance - porting + 2" into 2½" single mod'ed factory exhaust

Porting the exhaust manifold outlets, and upgrading from 1¾" head pipes to 2", was the biggest one-time improvement, roughly +30CHP/+70CTQ over stock!

928nut, what speakers did you use in your front speaker upgrade? That's on my list.

As for my 2 months of ownership - mostly taking out things the PO had that will not work for me. Like the **** carpet covered rear hatch area cover with custom wooden Porsche logo and the DVD player. Still working on all of the wiring mess that was made.

Since I am new there is along list ahead.

H4s were a great mod. Makes the cars lighting as good as my 996. The rolled fenders were necessary because of scraping.

[QUOTE=pscottjr;4873339]928nut, what speakers did you use in your front speaker upgrade? That's on my list.

I used Clarion SEP-5410 4x6 units. Had to use a 5/8" spacer and cut a hole into the door panel. Not quite as neat an installation as I'd like but there wasn't much to choose from. At the time, there was nothing around to fit under the door panel within the shallow speaker cavity as the originals. Cutting a larger/deeper speaker-hole in the door is an option but I refused to go that way. There could be new "low-profile" speakers out there now, I think I recall reading some posts regarding that. I'm happy with my sound now.

Enzo, have you graphed the gain/psi from your earlier 9psi to current 17psi, to see if there is a clear consistent % increase ratio or diminishing return?

[curious what it shows, but either way I'm rootin' for the 20 ]
