It looks like the GTS sold for $27k...Barrett-Jackson has never been kind to 928's. We considered selling one of our GT's there but the 8% sellers fee and the 10-12% buyers fee is not worth it to us.

I went up to the 2006 Barrett-Jackson auction in West Palm Beach, FL and they had three 928s. MYs '81, '84 and '85.

They were back under the tents with sold stickers already on them, so I didn't get to see any go up on the auction block. That could've been fun!

IMHO none of 'em were exactly stellar examples, so I was amazed to find out later on B-J's website how much they'd sold for: $9,180 for the '81, $12,636 for the '84 and $18,360 for the '85. I'd say those POs made out rather well at the auction!

The GTS price with the buyers fee would be $29,700. Sad. Even at that, Barrett-Jackson made at least $4860 for the sale.

At first I thought it was the GT that sold for $27000. Unreal. Did it make prime time? I just got home and turned on the TV.

Wow. Not much for what looked like a really nice GTS.
JB wins the pool. Right on with his guess.
