Post Ring Lands & YMMV

Which part of the piston is the ring land? Is it the area in between the rings?
And what the heck does YMMV mean?

I believe both the top and the bottom of the groove where any ring sits could be considered a
"land".

YMMV....Your Mileage May Vary.....

While we're at it, what does Viribus's use of IIRC mean?

Only God and Viribus know for sure...and God is confused!
Actually I think it means, If I Recall Correctly.

YMMV is commonly used when you want to share your opinion, but aren't completely sure if your opinion is correct or not.

Here's an example: "The timing belt on my 928 never needs adjusting - YMMV."

As the first to start using YMMV (YMMV), it means my opinion or comment may be different than yours because your condition, experience, or situation may be different than mine. YMMV.

The ring land is the part of the 928 piston that blows out when too much boost is used.

Yes, IIRC means "If I Recall Correctly"

ie, if my memory is to be trusted, this is the aswer, if not well, YMMV ("your milage may vary"...)

It's right up there with IMO, and IMHO. ("In My Opinion" and "In My Honest Opinion")
