Default Need help on wheel offsets

I know this has come up before and there are lots of post on the subject but... I need to know from the gurus who have done the offset on wheels more than I. I have found a set of 18x8 48mm offset front wheel and 18x10 40mm offset for the rear. Will these wheels work on my '83 928? Thanks in advance for the help...Rob

Anything less than 50mm ET on the front is usually not very good. Ideal for the front is 55mm.

For the rear it depends on how big a tire you plan on going with. The 83 does not have a rolled lip. My GT does so you probably have about 10mm less room toward the outside. If you go with a 275 tire it'll probably fit fine. Anything larger and you'll probably have to roll the fender.

Try my wheel calculator, but for your 83, change the "Tire Out" in cell L:34 to about 190.
