It is an absolute piece of ****. That's whats up with it. And what's worse is that Porsche never bothered to fix their crap, but instead has probably made millions off of repeatedly fixing just this one thing. The clown who designed it deserves to be stoned with his invention.

Can't argue with the poor design. I can't even understand why Porsche went the motor/crank route when there are excellent linear actuators available. And I would have much preferred to hear a satisfying thump as the hatch opened instead of that geriatric wheezing sound. Still, it's all part of the nature of the beast and at least the thing can be persuaded to work with a little tinkering.

I am sure that somewhere there is a set of Top secret service tech data sheets that Porsche issued to their trusted dealers only, never to become public domain that dealt with how to fix all these little gems of 928 problems.
