Post Possessed Pod

I have disconnected the O2 sensor and the plugs under the little cover by the passenger's seat, yet the odometer still pops and the amp gauge comes and goes. Anyone had this problem before. 1980.

Did you disconect the sensor, OR did you dissconnect the counter?

They are completely diffrent, and one does not effect the other. The big green wire, with the two white looking ones go to the O2 sensor, and will not effect the counter.

My counter was removed before I got the car, so I can't guide you on how to remove the right componet.

There is a little black box under a cover next to the passenger's seat. I disconnected every wire and connector on it. Everything else works fine (keeping fingers crossed) for now except the alternator gauge and the odometer. They seem to be connected somehow.

Tim,

I don't know if this will help but my 83 was doing the same thing after my changing the timing belt, and after checking the sensor as you are doing I found out the wires on the Alternator had broken and ended up replacing new ends and the alternator and every thing is fine now and back to normal.

Richard, I'm going down to Eurosports this morning and put the car on the lift, I'll check it out, sounds like it might be the case with mine also. Thanks.
