Hello again,
I posted something a week or so ago about an odd sound coming from the right rear of my car. I looked with my eyes open this time and discovered the problem to be a busted rear sway bar link. Ok, so I plan to replace it this weekend, but I have two questions. First, are there any gotchas in this job? It looks pretty straight forward, but who knows. Second, will I need an alignment afterwards? Thanks in advance.

It may seem wierd to answer my own question, but maybe someone else wants to know. After speaking with my mechanic, it seems that alignment is NOT affected by this piece. Also, since I can't get my part for a few days, it seems it is ok to simly remove both rear sway bar links as long as I keep the aggressive cornering to a minimum. I think this is probably better than having the busted link continue to scrape up against the gas tank. Hope this helps someone else too. Share the knowledge I always say.

Replacing the rear drop links is just a matter of unbolting the old one and bolting on the new one. You will not need an alignment after doing it. You might want to consider the adjustable drop links that 928 Specialists sells as long as you're replacing yours. They're stronger than the stock ones, adjustable, and give the same effect as putting on a thicker sway bar.
