Its just a first step in the loong process of resurrecting the Porsche GTS dream.

If you look at the dimensions of the 997, its pretty much the same size as a 928 GTS... so Porsche have been subtly shifting the 911 die-hards' opinions until they don't get to say no to the next GT car.

Anyone want to bet against the creation of a 911/997/(998?) GTS, now that "GTS" is added back to their cars?

Should that happen, I predict the Cayman will get the power plant its so obviously capable of holding, and become the real lightweight performance alternative to the GT car.

Or I could be smoking 928-crack

this part reads well...."405 horsepower. ,,,,,,,,,,,,, It's also outfitted with 21-inch wheels and there are two new colors exclusive to it: GTS Red and Nordic Gold Metallic. A six-speed manual is standard equipment, .........GTS in showrooms in February 2008. US buyers should set aside $69,300 ..." only slightly edited !

Porsche must have come across a large stock of forgotten "G" "T" "S" trim letters which have been sitting in the corner of an old warehouse since 1996, that they now need to get rid of.
