PHP Code:
Did you get rid of the inline fuel injector thingymabob when you had the intake off
You mean that foolish looking thing that has the electrical taped wiring, plug and is connected to the WUR??? Yea...kept it "to be in compliance" If you can guarantee me that I will pass DEQ without it, then it gets 86'd.

In the meantime, come back over to reset what you did on the mixture. The bitch don't want to start now cause its got a complete rubber refresh and no vac leaks.

As I posted earlier, all that crap is coming out. I just had to brave the 30 some degree weather. Tomorrow the rest gets yanked.

I would highly recommend looking on the JC Whitney web site. I bought one of those a long time ago for an old Trans Am that I had. I was able to download the PDF for the wiring. THe one I had was a keyless entry module (I didn't get the alarm one).

Images of the neigbhors garage door going up and down.

The toggles could be some sort of a kill switch in line with a key electrical component that enables the car to run.

Kieth,

With all those wires and connections I find it hard to believe that you don't have one of those rare transformer models on your hands.

I woulda figured out how it worked before I took it all out. You may have just killed Dead End.

Keith - when its all out I assume you will post pictures of what the insides look like?

The interesting thing is that there are a lot of connections there - many more than for a typical alarm... so what does it do - what was it connected to - and what else was modified along the way...

Good Luck!

" Is a problem just waiting to happen I do not think I would want to get very far from home in that car My AAA tow is ONLY good for 100 miles and it is $7.00 per mile after that ! It too needs an exorcism...

I get a lot of phone calls....some of those a long "dead" alarm system has magically armed it's self and you do not have the code / controller or an added relay or hidden in line fuse or old butt connected wire fails. A hidden toggle kill switch gets bumped and the party is OVER !! Keith I wonder if one of your switches was a tailight and or brake light kill switch very helpful for avoiding pursuit from behind

Here's the pile of what I had removed. There is a box behind the egg crate and I figure they must have taken the fender off to install it...so I left it there. I also cut two other harnesses...one that goes into the drivers door which I know goes to a vending machine key lock at the edge of the door and an led at the top of the door panel and the other one goes into the engine bay where I guess they must have had a horn. I have yet to yank that harness that runs behind the cooling reservoir and other crap. I could care less about the one in the door and I know there is a few wires running into the passenger door.

I followed every wire and got the damn thing out for the most part. As I stated in an earlier post, I had to patch a few wires back together at the back of the central electrical panel. This thing wound around from the passenger foot well, behind the dash, through the rocker to the front driver fender, back into the driver and passenger door and behind the central electrical panel into the engine bay out to the radiator...like a freakin' tape worm!

Incidentally, those losers at Security Products never called me back after I had left two messages. I'm guessing no one there is old enough to know how these dinosaurs work.

It may not look like much, but tracing, cutting zip ties and feeding the harnesses back through holes and such took several hours.

How great could it have been to be worth all that work??

Imagine the labor cost to put in all you describe...?

imagine how much it'd cost to debug it afterwards.... I had a 1'x1'x1' box full of wire and crap pulled out of mine in 1 session that lasted about a week w/a pcar mechanic.... there was more but we'd solved the issue we were working on at the time so we quit... only cost me $1200.00 on that round.

I think there otta be a law against adding more than 1 wire to a car unless it's been in a fire.

I'm VERY glad that my 928 has just STOCK electricals..other than my deck......these cars are complicated enough...without the variable of unknown quality alarm installs!
