Post 928 Owners

This little bit is written by an unknown author - Remember I didn't write it, so please don't shoot the messenger. For Other Porsche Owners descriptions, please visit the Off Topic Forum. Also, this is meant to be Humorous, so don't take it personally.

928 - "The Money Pit" 928 owners feel themselves the luckiest individuals in the world, as they have found these very expensive sports cars and picked them up for pennies on the dollar. 928 owners can be identified by sound in most Porsche repair shops - they all tend to say something along the lines of "(insert large dollar amount here) to fix (insert relatively trivial part here)! You've got to be kidding me, I only paid (some number less than $10000 here) for the car." All 928 owners secretly compare themselves to Tom Cruise in "Risky Business" and have at least once danced around their living room in a button-down shirt, briefs, and ray-ban sunglasses to "Old Time Rock and Roll".

And what is wrong with this.... actually after spending years rebuilding ford and honda and gm engines in my previous cars I find the 928 refreshing to work on.

You just have to understand you are wortking on a 21 year old car and things are not new. now being used to driving 15 to 20 year old cars and having to keep them up, the only thing different about the 928 is that parts are a bit pricey as there was not 100,000 of them imported each year they were produced. but I think that is a trade off on performance as well.

I can also say that if you see a speed yellow 928 driving in Ohio you probably know its mine. can you say that about your 19XX insert year POS import or american car.

secondly , how many 21 year old cars can you buy sight unseen , fly to Texas and then drive them home 2,000 miles without them breaking down on the way. I saw plenty of newer cars broke down on the side of the road on the way home

928 owner and proud of it.

Nachtmeister,
But have you done the 'wild thing'on the Chicago El?
Anyway,
I am starting to think my 82' Weissach is acting a lot like my 13 year old daughter...seeks attention constantly, makes mountains out of mole hills, craves pampering, demands new 'THINGS', enjoy's money being spent on her, and likes to eat out at -only the nicer- dining establishments.
Still, my cost's have been considerably less than most other's quote, I don't have a payment book,
as she was cheaper than a new Hyundai.
Let em' poke fun, or, not. Most of us did get a good deal - AND KNOW IT!-
If I ever beat the spark monsters I'll be in Heaven.

Btw., I ordered my 928 with fuzzy dice, gold rims and a custom cane-holder as exclusive factory options.

What kind of individual wrote that evil generalization which started this thread anyway?
C'mon and step forward - this is the perfect time to do some more research on the very special breed you already seem to know so much about...

Anyone know where I can get one of those Rolls Royce grilles for my shark? They looked SOOOOO cool on the Volkswagens and I think they'd make a real "statement" about us 928 owners.

Cool

Actually, I see myself more as Tony Montana , with the machine gun turrents on my 928, and yelling,"I'll keel all you cockaroaches". (Scarface)

That statement could apply to most anything…the wife…the house…the dog…ECT…picked them up for pennies but try maintaining them.

I say we organize a posse and kick sum-A$$… <img border="0" alt="[soapbox]" title="" src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" /> both him and his boyfriend!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />
