RMB Install
I ran out of light on the RMB install last night. The nuts were completely rusted on to the bolts on the existing hardware. One came off after multiple treatments of a WD40 like product. The other one, I had to break it off (I just twisted and twisted until the bolt snapped). The 30 minute run to West Marine for new stainless steel hardware cost me the ability to complete the job. I will finish on my almost three year old son's nap this afternoon.
I recommend that when you go into the job, you have the following new stainless steel hardware:
Qty 2 2 3/4 X 5/16 bolts
Qty 2 5/16 flat washers
Qty 2 5/16 nylon bushing lock nuts
Other than this, the only tough part of the job is 'stretching' the rubber mounting hangers over enough to accomodate a nice snug fit of the new RMB.
