if you are leaning towards leaving the center cap off-----

you could just paint the center cap "black".

that would give the 30 feet away appearance of the dark spot in the center of your wheel spokes........?

Sorry but it's not my cup of tea. The stance of the car with the new tires/rims is too high. Looks weird and reminds me of the Volvo Cross Country. Could they be tucked into the fenders a littel better?

Pictures were taken right after lifting the car and putting on the new wheels. Once I put a few miles on it I'm sure the suspension will settle a bit and it won't be quite so high.

Outstanding! My wife and I give it 2 thumbs high She's been wanting to replace the original style wheel as well and we both like what you've done. But, I have to fix the mechanicals first before adding the Bling!

Looks good. Can you share where you purchased them? And please post some pics once the suspension has settled. With a 1" drop, that will look very sharp.

There was an earlier thread where someone was looking for wheels. "Interested in wheels at 3rd Coast Gathering in Texas" Justin has replied to this and said he knew of these Caymen S wheels and tires. I followed up on that and since he is local to the DFW area it was a very easy transaction, no shipping just drive from one side of the metro area to the other and pick them up.

Thumbs up Moosgrun Looky Mighty Fine

BlackShark,

You must be doing something right, for you are pleasing the Moosgrun gods. Your moss green shark is looking mi-tee fine in those Cayman shoes. Nice going. May the Moosgrun gods further lay down a carpet of asphalt before you and smite down insolent soccer mom mini vans in thy path. And it shall be done. A-men.

from yourpicture you might put on a pair of leather gloves and gently pull on the rear fenders to adda bit more flair to the fenders it wont take much a gentle tug this should keep your tire sidewall from hitting when cornering hard. I like the look and was wondering if the Cayman wheels do come in a 10 in rear i have 997 wheels and the are 8 and 10 with the ame tires size you have listed

Maybe not genuine Porsche, but the replicas come in 18x8, 18x9 and 18x10 in offsets from 43 to 65. I've been looking into them.

I bought a wheel/tire set of genuine porsche carrera 3's off ebay. The tires are 235/40 and 265/40. I expected that the tires would be too tall (esp the backs) so I bought a set with not much tread left. I think I'll pull off the tires and put on 225/40 and 265/35 to get close to the original tire height. Figure with this the fronts will be a tad taller (maybe 1/4") and the rears just under 1/2" taller than stock.

Very nice. Did you have to roll the fenders? Jason

Sweeeeeeeet!!! I love the look of those wheels. I never did like the look of the stock wheels. 928's have nice fat disks and calipers and it's a real bummer that the stock wheels coverd them all up.
