Hi All!
Havent posted in a while, since them ive aquired an 87 auto. Nice car but is lacking some serious TLC! One of my concerns has been that when the car reaches operating temp if stays right above the 3/4 mark, My 85 gets no where near that! It does not over heat, just runs hot IMHO. So I decided to remove and clean the radiator, what I found was a filthy mess, see pic. Now I dont know if this will make a big differance but its worth a shot, will keep you cats posted.

I cleaned my rad, re-installed with new hoses and fresh anti-freeze......20 YO & no worries.

You are doing the right thing Danny.
Changed out my old corroded Devek and put in a newly redone older rad and it runs a full 1/4 cooler now.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

Cleaning the fins is a great idea. You may want to try blowing out the A/C coils as well since they also see a great deal of debris. If you haven't already that is....
Have an aluminum from Ron Racing/Devek which is working beautifully. I think it may be working too well actually. FYI the aluminum radiators are larger than stock and it makes it more difficult to do some basic maintenance but it is manageable.
