Default gauge adjustment

after looking over several pictures of dash clusters for 89 models im convinced that my temp gauge is out of adjustment. Tommorow I will be tearing into it to. Does anyone know if the temp guage has a "dial in screw" that will adjust the needle or should I use the fork method?

I'm pretty sure that my tach "arm" is off slightly as the car hits the rev limiter just before the redline...and shows and idle of approximately 400rpm. If I get under the pod sometime, I'll just twist the arm on the mounting pin a bit to get back to rev-limiter reality.

The images below show two seperate 89 clusters. Note the temperature needle is either in front of or in the white rectangular area. My temp guage is past this white mark when the engine is cold. During regular driving the guage will be just over 3\4 temp. I have taken it in several times as I was concerned it was running way to hot. I was assured by my mechanic that the engine temp is just fine, and that it might have something to do with a bad ground. Now with the cluster out of the car and the gauge sitting in the same place I know it's not a ground. The last image is of another cluster that the needle sits at the same point mine does.
