Not exactly on topic re:928 but potentially good for future:

My wife got me a full RUF exhaust setup with switch controlled bypass system for my 993 C4S one year. I installed it myself and it is spectacular, needless to say it is rarely operated on 'quiet' mode.

She does not understand the 928 yet-calls it a Buick!
I just got the shark and after I go over it well-she will learn. There is respect for the 993 earned on the Colorado twisties

The best 928-related gift was my 928.
I ran the idea of buying it by my wife, who fully endorsed the idea (much to my surprise). I consider it a gift from her, since our finances are one in the same - and we had a 3 year old and a 6 month old baby at the time.
Eric, we're practically neighbors. i was going to head to FC this evening to pick up a pair of vintage JBL's but I'm having to reschedule to some time after Thanksgiving (thank God, because the traffic would have been brutal).
No reason that the owners of a couple of twins shouldn't have a chance to meet (give me a shout if you're in town Fri or this weekend). Also, I'm very curious as to what kind of co-workers would not only locate but put together a model of your car....what kind of business are you in? Is it automotive related?

Best gift I got was...a car cover, a subscription to Porsche World, and a road trip to a resort hotel for a delightful day of driving the 928, reading the magazine, and related evening activities. 40 years of marriage just gets better...and that particular combination assures continued potency in all the important ways.

Had a very similar experience with my wife. I'd been looking casually at 993s and 996s for about a year when my GT came up for sale. She insisted on a child seat for the back, but otherwise was really supportive and actually went to MI with me to pick it up.

JP, would be happy to get together Friday or this weekend -- will PM you my contact info. In response to your other question, I work with an amazing team of people -- in the corporate world, not auto related -- and they checked out the year, model, coloring, etc. without me knowing it in order to get the model as correct as possible. It was an absolute surprise. Clearly they know how much I love my car!

Happy Thanksgiving,
Eric

My kids saved up and bought me a nice suede leather jacket with a huge Porsche logo on the front. I get more comments about it then the car... Maybe that means it's time for paint.

The best gifts I've received are the free parts I got from fellow Rennlisters during my belt-failure rebuild and the in-person help from the Detroit gang to drop the engine back into my car (twice).

I got a model of my 89GT, from and built by my Son-in-Law. The pictures don't do it justice, the manuals and posters are exact duplicates of the real thing. I'm sure he spent weeks on it.
