Raced Your 928?
#16
Let me be more clear.....
Who has dropped the hammer on someone on a city street/highway, etc. for whatever reason for however long?
All track racing rules but that wasn't the question.
Yes, I meant in the past obviously....
Again be honest.......
BTW - Of course I'm not asking anyone to go out and race their 928 on a city street! My mom could ask this same question or a cop or a insurance broker.....
Just a question thats all.
Anyone have a cheeseburger for lunch today?
DISCLAIMER - I am in no way suggesting people should eat cheeseburgers on a Sunday at approximately 12:00 noon.....

Which kinda presents a pardox of sorts if you consider that the 928 is the ultimate autobahn cruiser and is optimised for comfortable fast cruising but would have never been built if Porsche AG wasnt worried about losing the US market for fear the 911 being barred from import due to the politics of the era.

The definition of racing is very encompassing indeed. Simply flooring it for a few seconds might qualify...in which case I'm guilty as charged. If you're fighting NYC traffic and you're not flooring your 928 from block to block, the cabbies will get you (yes they're damn fast) and it would take you twice the time to get to your destination.
Every now and then you cruise alongside a vette or a Mustang or another Porsche and before you know it you're past 140 mph for a few seconds, or you push the limits of your suspension (and that of your skills) on the highway onramp. It happens, and I'm sure it happens more often than we're willing to admit...yes of course very dangerous and foolish. I try to remember that the older I get.
