Here's the front, spherical bearings are used at all points, even the upper arm.

When you take the bushings off the lower arms, they bcome very accessible for Powder Coating.

Nice,
was thinking about doing this to my track car, seems you have done all of the legwork already.
What is the cost if you were to duplicate the front setup?

Is any of this going to production or are you just teasing everyone?

Thanks! Although I don't expect anyone to actually want any of that stuff.

There is one particular engine part though that I've been making blanks for and dreamed of making the whole thing from design to finished part and am actually doing what it takes lately to make that dream come true.

You would think that it would be a good idea to sell these but I really don't expect anyone to be interested. I'm very much into a certain school of thought with few students and the price will certainly be much higher than other methods.

I do have alot to say about suspension bushing design and just wrote a page dedicated to it on my simardracing site. It's a topic dear to me and the write up is very opinionated but it's not meant to be a jab at anyone. Please don't be offended if it digs at you, it's meant as a general guide to a topic that nobody understands very well and it's hard to do that without criticizing the whole world.

Sliding friction. You cannot simply replace rubber with Delrin or Polyurethane. You now need a frictional
surface and it can't be a roughly shaped stock part that once held rubber. That would be a nightmare of
binding, slopiness from awkward wear and squeaking. Merely adding a grease fitting to this half-assed
monstrosity is not going to keep it from being half-assed. This replacing-rubber-with-another-material
approach is widespread though and easy for suppliers to make money from unsuspecting customers

I wouldn't go quite that far.

Ok, I thought I was going nuts since I didn't remember that write-up on there last time. Very nice piece.

nah. I sell life insurance. It takes alot more to actually offend me. If what I did isn't going to work Mike, I will learn soon enough.

Under tests though, it does seem to pivot. The actual polyurethane is sliding inside the fittings. So either that will work or it will wear quickly, and I will have to go back to stock or similar (this is a street car - the race car can use your stuff if I can do it). They are coated, however, with the thicker PC paint. So maybe that is smooth enough for now.

What I would worry about is the harshness on the road. It seems like the roads in San Diego are getting worse and worse - and even Leeroy on old shocks seems harsh.
