Thanks!
Perry and Ron, what tires do you have?
Hey Andre, am waiting for the next NorCal shark drive, hoping to meet all you folks finally (after reading so much of your notes on the site, it'll be cool to meet in person). By the way, my 11yr old daughter is also crazy about our sharkster and she is particularly proud of how she keeps the 928's leather interior in top shape. Are the group drives appropriate for an 11yr old to tag along? Or is there too much cussin'? Dont want to cramp all the other shark-owner's style!

I have 4 kids and 2 of them have been on the fun runs.

NorCal folks do not use foul language, as Bill Ball would kick their ****.
My 9 you son is scheduled for the next run.

Cheers,
Andre

Well, I have had mine aligned three times and no one figured it out, because they never took the time to work through all the possible wear points BEFORE aligning the car

I find it strange that workshops do alignment jobs without even asking the owner if all bushings and joints have been renewed (lately). It`s money right out the window unless the major wear points are up to date.

I have been using Bridgestones but just bought two front Kuhmos because they will only last half their life before being worn unevenly and they are half the price of Bridgestones. Maybe someday I'll find a shop close by my home that knows how to properly align a 928 AND will check all the wear points before doing it. Then I'll go back to Bridgestones.

I had Yokohama ES100's on it and bought a cheap set of all weather tires from Rob Edwards to swap them with. When the guy at the tire store heard my dilema with the Yokos he said they only last about half life and go to shi-. I can't believ Yoko has never done anything to correct this, and they still sell them.

My trouble started when I went from Potenza 205(front) to Sumitomos 225(front). It did get better with time but nothing like they used to with the 205.
When the Sumis are gone, I'm going back to 205 for sure.

Ron - Custom Alignment in Mountain View is experienced in the 928.

I've got 285/17 Pilot's on the front and 305/17 on the rear. The Pilots are at maybe 25% left. Mine jumps all over although AutoX/Track days are a blast.

Thanks to all for the replies.
Joe, I will certainly reach out to Ron at custom alignment.
By the way, these folks down under have a lot of good info on tires, wheels on 928. Also speak about tram-lining a lot.

Thanks Joe. Nicole used them once and then went back to Devek. I'll check out their shop.

As much as I like Marc & Susan, they're in a different place now (with their business). No service.
