i have a 1986 928 semms someone put the intake manifold on with the ruber gasket an also the steel gasket wich caused an air leak and the tech stated this could cause the car not to hold an idle.,two types of gaskets for this car a thick rubber or the thin steel one

Hi Angelo,
If your shark is an 86, it will require the metal reinforced rubber gaskets and they are thick compared to the older, discontinued, original ones. They come as 4 pieces - 2 cylinders per gasket. 928Inter sells them for something like 38.00 a piece (PN - 928 110 568 00). Not the cheapest gaskets in the world but absolutely necessary to prevent false air from leaking through the intake. You'll probably never change them again.
