Well today was a great day to tinker with the Shark, it got a full tune up, including the Bosch platinum +4s. These made all the difference with a problem I was having at high speed.
I took the car out for a test drive and this guy in his 20's with a suped up mustang wanted a piece of Shark.
The only piece he saw was the rear end. After two runs from 60-130 mph, which he couldn't keep up with, he gets next to me and tries to taunt me into another race. I can tell from the sound this is not a stock mustang, he had some big HP.
So, as I floor it and he crunches a gear, I leave him in the dust, as I back out of it at 120 he comes screaming by with his hand held victoriously out the window.
As we exit the highway and he's grining from ear to ear, I didn't have the heart to tell him he got smoked 3 times in a row, by a 19YO car with 140,000 miles and only 235 HP.
It's not about big horse power, it's about class!
Thus endeth his lesson.

LOL Bro you better be carefull, getting pulled over at 130 MPH and I am guessing they take you directly to the pokey for that. Other than that Mustangs are for High School Boys, Shark Owners However are Connoisseur's .

You got to be careful which Mustangs you pick on. The ones with the little snakes on the front qtr panel aren't so tame anymore. I've been spending some time on a SVT mustang site, where these guys are pulling some serious HP out of their cars.

THE SVT Cobras are getting faster no doubt. The 03 Cobra has 390 HP and 390 Ft lbs Trq.

Whats the HP on a Mustang GT late model?
I pulled up behind one yesterday on my way home from work. Typical, arm hangin' out the window type who kept looking in the mirror at me. Nobody ahead of us on the other side of the light with about a 2 mile stretch of straight open road ahead of us.
I wasn't interested in racing him but I thought it would be interesting to see if he was able to get away from me.
Light changed and you guessed it!
He stomped it - so did I!
He had a stick obviously because everytime he ran out of gear, my shark nearly swallowed his ***.
Remember I have an auto.
his 1st gear - I had to back out of throttle
his 2nd gear - ditto
his 3rd gear - my tranny is asking me what-the-f**k - back off throttle again??
wasn't until he hit fourth that both cars seemed to be picking up equal speed. By that time, I was already backin' out of it since I knew he didn't stand a chance against a shark over 100 anyway.
Nope, no thumbs up or winks or nods. He pulled up to the next light after the 2 mile stretch and just kept eyes forward while I banked off to the right on my merry way home.
Absolutley no competition?

I just drove a 03 Cobra (390hp) and wasnt impressed as I thought I would be, I drove it for about 15min and granted it was a convertible- but I know I would smoke one from while rolling @ 50mph or so, prob not off the line but who races a Porsche stoplight to stoplight? not me...

I wouldn't worry about racing a new Cobra. Those genius' at Ford are having the engines blow up from detonation anyway. Notice any new cobras for sale? Now you know why...

The one I raced was about a 92-93, but it was no where near stock. The kid had a lot of work into it, you could just tell by how the engine revved. Too bad no one taught him how to shift.
It goes back to the "Special Forces Rules"

I prefer to let the other driver think they won. By that I mean, I do not participate in street racing. I have nothing to prove to anyone. My car is fast enough for me, and that's all that really matters.
Besides, by not street racing, I guarantee that I will not get a big ticket, nor thrown in jail, nor kill myself or anyone else. Can you make that guarantee? YMMV.

Of the two engines available on Ford Mustang, the 4.6L V-8 is the most powerful. Delivering an impressive 260 horsepower and 302 lb.-ft. of torque, this high-performer will satisfy your thirst for power. The single overhead cam design helps provide power output at a higher rpm and is designed for those who tend to push their vehicles to the limit
New for 2003 and only available on the Mustang Mach 1 is a 4-valve, DOHC 4.6-liter V-8. The engine makes use of specially calibrated cams, a modified upper intake to accommodate the ram-air system, a forged crank (cast crank in automatic transmission application) and performance exhaust manifolds to produce more than 300 horsepower.
