Our family is considering travelling to Nashville for New Year's and a few days thereafter. None of us have ever been to Nashville, but we're curious about the ******* Opryland Hotel and the Nashville area.
We have kids who are 8 and 14. Looks like no indoor pool at the *******. My wife Rebecca thinks there is still enough to do for 3-4 days for both kids and adults. Any input from those who've been there or live there?
Sorry if this goes straight to OT. I trust the wit and wisdom of fellow 928 owners and so I'm posting here.
Peace,
Tim

Hi Tim,
I'm in Nashville and would be happy to follow up with you via PM or e-mail.
Opryland is a very unique hotel, pool or no pool, and if you can swing it, I'd recommend trying it out. The inside of the hotel is simply staggering in size and scope. There are three huge atriums, each about the size of an indoor arena. At Christmas, the hotel is really decorated up nice, too.
And, there is Opry Mills mall right nearby, with a 20-plex movie theatre, and a separate IMAX theatre, too.
There should be a few other shows going on in the Opryland area. In recent years we've been to the Rockettes show at the Grand Ol Opry, and an ice show in another building on the hotel grounds.
There is the Andrew Jackson museum, which is quite educational for children, although I'm not sure if it's open at that time of year.
I'd be happy to do a little digging around to find out about the availability of other year-end events, if you'd like.
Regards,
- rick
