Default Almost new 225 and 245-16 Goodyear all seasons for sale in SoCal - cheap! ($100)

The CS rims I bought had an essentially new set of Goodyear Ultra HP-4 radials on them, which I just exchanged with some Avons and so these are taking up space in the garage. They're 225/50HR16 and 245/45HR16, so perfect fit for stock 16" rims. I think that they are the predecessor of the current Eagle HP Ultra Plus, the tread block design looks identical. These are all season radials (M+S rated) and have a DOT date of 4203, so my guess is they're 4 years old. I have driven about 1500 miles on them. I need to sell these so it won't look so suspicious when my CupI's come back from refinishing........[ducking]

I would really prefer that a local person come pick them up- they would be useful for someone who might actually venture out of the LA basin or drives where it actually rains......

$100 and I'll throw in a used alternator belt for free!!!!!

I'll take them if you decide to ship. I would cover shipping as well, stick them in a box and off the go. Would be perfect for the 16's I just bought.

You may wanna post over in the 944 forums as lots of stocks are 16's as well.

How much are CS rims these days? Great deal on the tires, wish you were closer.

Michael-

If I don't get a local nibble, I'll look into what it would cost to ship- I've done rims (Fedex ground) but never tires. Anyone got a preferred vendor?

Richard-

They were, uh, expensive. $2K. But hey, they had these great almost new Goodyear all season radials on them, so I couldn't resist!

Wow, more than I figured....but hey, sell the almost new tires and you're down to, what, about $1900? Makes the wheels practically free!

Well, perhaps I paid too much, but eventually when '89 GT's attain collector status, some type-A concours guy will REALLY want a set cherry CS rims, and I'll be rich, rich rich!!!! Muahahahahahahah...

Or maybe not. But they sure are pretty. And even more so without all season tires on them!

Only one complaint about noise on tire rack so they might not be to bad, even with that agressive tread. Everyone raved about the mileage they got out of them.

Note the H speed raing on these. No late-night speed runs on the toll road with them!

Ron--

If it's unstable over 90, it's likely not the motor mounts. IIRC, the H-rated tires are rated for something like 114 mph. Maybe some round, well-balanced tires will let you go just a bit faster than 90. Glad you are able to take advantage of these, by the way. I gave a little bit of thopught to grabbing them and putting them on the "storage" wheels to replace the now-11yo BFG's the PO installed for me. Better than you use them on the road vs me having them on the shelf, since mine are seldom used.

And Erik-- Didn't you just buy new tires a month or two ago?

Enjoy!

Dr. Bob, My tires are good with lots of tread and in balance. The vibration at 90 is just annoying as all get out, I know its mounts. Mix the vibration with howling tires and you get a combo that can drive an old man crazy. I want Rob to ride with me in my car to get his opinion on the noise my current car has and see if they are louder than what he remebers the ones he's selling to be.

Rob will need to tell you whether he actaully installed these tires on the car. IIRC, the CS rims went directly to refinishing without a stint on the car.
