Use to use it for DD, but at $50-75 per tank and at best 250Miles on a tank, had to stop and drive the Bimmer which can get almost double the mileage.

I did a search before I posted but people's driving habits change. One thread was from 2004 and gas prices aren't the same today.

Facts to consider:
Assumptions:
600 miles per week
$3.00/gal. for gas
18 mpg for shark
35 mpg for honda
Gas cost per week, shark = $100.00
Gas cost per week, honda = $51.43
Marginal cost per week to drive the shark, $49.57
That's about $10 a day, probably driving 2 or 3 hours each day. So that's about an extra $4.00 an hour to drive a 928. I'm not rich either but it's kind of hard to see how that's not worth it.

Hello members i have had mine for about a year now and i used it as a daily driver. My average is about 50-60 miles a day,and yes as a daily driver gas could hurt the wallet. But it is fun and safe to drive on the freeway and also to places without that back pain. Its has been great ,but not without paying for so much in maintenance from past owners. Now 99% done i am looking forward to fully enjoying it.

I'd be happy with $3.00/gal but in the SF area, super is up to $3.57 by my house and it seems to be going up every day.

My 86.5 was a daily driver from 1992 to roughly 2006 - sold it with 225K miles on it to a guy who drives it everyday. My 87 has been a daily driver since roughly 2005 to present. During 2005/2006 I alternated between the two. After 15 years I really have no idea what other kind of car I'd want to drive on a daily basis.

I purchased mine w/ the intent of replacing my previous DD. 8 months, 5 days, a little over 17k miles. So far, besides the normal maintenance and catching up on a bit of missed maintenance from the PO, it's been a pleasure to drive. A few days of driving my other car, and I'm definitely missing it.
