Idle Switch and Vacuum Limiter on OB
I need to know where these are located on the engine. I have a drop in rpms when shifting gears (increase rpms then drops to 0 for 1-2 seconds and return to correct idle) and some of the threads suggest these parts as being the problem.
I have read so many posts and look through the WSM but am still not sure where these are. I think I know where the vacuum limiter is located.
Thanks, I am still learning and like most of us I try to cram everything into the weekend.....

Don't know about the idle switch, as my car is CIS (same as 78/79 in most respects).
Vacuum limiter is a frisbee-shaped device, standing on edge, on the passenger side of the manifold.
A lot of folks seem to prefer it failed or disconnected due in part to the effect you mention (flaring return to idle). My manuals have a vacuum hose schematic that shows it very well.
