old vs new
On a previous topic I stated that I bought a 1985 928 with the blaupunkt radio face plate missing and wanted to know if there were any radios that were quick replacements.
Well I now have the chance to buy a Blaupunkt Monterey SQR 23 which is the same model as it had when new, BUT they want $275 for it.
My question... Is this old replacement radio worth that much, when you can obtain a new radio replacement for about the same amount and have all the new "stuff" that goes with it?

I guess that depends on the person. Some people like having their entire car original.
I replaced my Montery with an Alpine. I did this becuase the radio would not let me choose the proper frequency and the cassette player was almost useless.
Now I have great sound and a CD to boot! The whole thing including installation cost around $280.00. You can't play video games on it. However, it's great to listen too!
BTW I still have the Monterey.
