Writers Wanted!
Hello fellow Porsche fans. I’m a magazine publisher and am in the early stages of developing a new magazine dedicated to the cars we love so much. This new periodical will be like none other. I’m currently looking for editorial contributors. I’d like to find capable authors with expertise in model category (i.e. a 993 expert, a 944 expert, etc.). Along with looking for contributors I do have some full-time in-house (southern California) editorial positions available. Qualified candidates must, first and foremost, be passionate about Porsche automobiles, exhibit strong grammar and writing skills, be easy to work with, as well as have strong grasp of things technical and mechanical. All published contributors will receive compensation.
As I mentioned earlier I am in the early stages of putting things together. If you are interested please email me at mikev@rc411.com
Please include name, geographical location (city, state), and lastly why you feel you would be qualified to write for a first class periodical. After receiving your email I will be in touch within two weeks.
Thanks for your time.

Hey Mike-
Have you seen or heard of the 928 Forum? Pretty nice 928 Model specific publication put together by a bunch of 928 Owners up in the NW.
Check it out if you haven't yet.

Jay: have you been getting subsequent editions? I only got the first one way back when, then nothing. Assumed it was defunct already. <img src="graemlins/sleep.gif" border="0" alt="[sleep]" />
Mike: I was an Excellence subscriber but let it go as its focus was 911, with the rare foray into one of the other extinct models, which meant 928s were featured about once/year, not worth the subscription. I could pick up that one issue at the newsstand. How will your pub be different than an otherwise quality magazine such as Excellence?

I have not seen 928 forum. Although, I will be subscribing shortly and plan to speak to those guys about possibly working together on projects. I've never subscribed to Excellence, but have purchased my fair share off the newsstand. This new title will feature monthly columns dedicated to each popular model. Whether you own a 914, 928, or 911 you'll have a compelling reason to read each issue. I'm very excited about some of the concepts we have for feature and regular articles, but aren't ready to share the details quite yet. As soon as the companion website is up and running we'll be advertising quite about on Rennlist and other frequented sites.

Mike,
Also consider once you are up and running with success, producing a spin-off video series to air on the likes of speed vision an/or other various cable airing outlets.
We did this once with “Men’s Journal” magazine after it became a successful publication, we produced a video series with the same title that aired around 5 yrs I believe. Both media supported each other’s events IE: the magazine would advertise a future show’s content and also run a detailed article of a previous shows excursion.
Worked out well for the time it aired on ESPN. I have a lot of experience in this area if you have any questions.

Yes, the third volume of 928 Forum is due out very soon. We again held up release to put in a great article on Euro 928. Well worth the wait. This third issue features an indepth look at Don Hanson's DEVEK powered stroker authored by PacNW's Tom Middleton and featuring cover photography and centerfold by Irvin Images, an artifully presented feature on Euro 928 penned by Desert Gang 928 (AZ) member Richard Andrade, and a look into the world of Open Road Racing as seen by George Suennen of NorCal 928. You will also be seeing the official hello from our English brethren at 928GB, and an interesting Op-Art article from a subscriber who identifies himself as Zuffenhausen Zeke, who has some interesting comments on financing the maintenance costs that can come with 928 ownership, and of course, the ever important Editor's Column
.
Questions, comments, didn't receive an isssue? Email us please: Forum928@att.net
Every mailing we've had about a dozen magazines that didn't make it to their destination, one of them could be you if you didn't receive it. Let us know.
Good luck to Mike on the new start up mag, anything to help spread the word about our great cars can only be good for everyone.

Adam,
If I join now, can I also get the two back issues along with this recent issue coming out?
Tim Delarm
P.S...How's Puyallup? Almost bought a house there when I worked in Tacoma.

Mike-
Feel free to get in touch with me. I have a journalism degree. My plate is fairly full already running my own web site (sports) and my day job, but I am willing to listen nonetheless. Im not a monkeywrench so to speak but my strengths are editorials and features writing, whether it would be on Porsches or anything else for that matter. Owning a 951, that would probably be the easiest for me to write about, but general automotive/Porsche discussions would certainly qualify...

Hello John.
Having been on this forum for about a year, I have not seen any publication in the shape, form or any other disguise that compares with this site of Yours.
Im sitting here with a yard of snow outside, temperatures of -20 C, nice and warm inside, having a good cigar(not Cuban), sipping to a nice vintage scotch, wondereing about the meaning of life, charging the battery on my -79 928 sitting in its comfortabely numb in the garage, Dean Martin humming in the background, thinking about modifications to the 928, dreaming of a sailboat and nice tropical waters..a beautiful woman,or maybe two...but... rennlist always on my mind.
Why not take this excellent forum a step further?
I can picture myself an archive with articles/stories regarding the 928, maybe a picture archive.
It is for sure that You have a lot of users here, I am sure, that would be glad to contribute to something like this...I can think of many names flipping by my screen every time I get on here.
Of course it would be nice to have some magazines to bring to bed on occation...maybe later on?
Maybe it is the liquid courage from the highland of Scotland that is taking?
geir....
