When the Bosch +4's first came out, there was a video made for the trade that discussed the reasoning. Bosch admits that they are not for performance, but to maintain the emissions warranties of the car manufacturers out to the 100k mark mandated by the feds. So if you like to leave your plugs in that long, the +4's are your best bet.

Believing that I needed to test the theory, new +4's went in at 40k on my S4, replacing the original copper plugs. They run better than the old worn plugs. Better than a new set of copper plugs? Better than a new set of plats? Don't know. Maybe in another ten years, when I've accumulated 40k on them, I'll know. Platinum electrodes don't rust, do they?

DR. Bob you only drive your 928 aprox. 334 Miles Per Month?

Never mind, I just figured out mine. I have no room to talk (223 MPM averaged over 3 yrs)

Plats may not be a bad idea, never thought about the rust factor

Richard, the last wire set came from DEVEK, don't know the name on them but I think they are OEM or equivalent and were priced right (I think the big three are going to be about the same $ wise).

Thanks,

I have put in the Plat. Plugs and ordered the Wires, Cap and rotor from 928 Spec. ( It was their turn for my money 928 Int. got my last order)

Just for my entertainment I checked with the other auto place's in Denver ( No Dealers) Autozone, Checker, NPA and Import warehouse, They all could get the parts for me and the prices were all over the place. Wires were from $159 to $299. for the same Bosch Part number.

Might as well give the money to the guys that support the 928 at least they know what they are talking about.

Thanks for all the replys and information.

Richard
