Oh yeah - as an alternative to the dyno thing - I'm trying to get a tour/shopping excursion setup while those of us are doing a Dyno.

So - there it is - so far. Ahd yes, there will be some cool 'trinkets' available as well.

Well, after half a day setting up some minor details, I'm off in the morning to trace down the roads.

George - just wanted to extend a special invite to you, but please realize that this is a 928 event (you may get the special award - but not a 928 one!

I've been in touch with several other owners/groups in the past few days..and hope to have an event all will be proud of attending!

Best Regards-

George,
I'd, roughly, interpret Jay's official invite to the ARKANSAS SOIREE as:
" Smoke Em' If you Gottem' "
I figure your 911 to be a car of National Interest and would sooner miss a AC/DC concert than the opportunity to eyeball that demon of yours.
Jay have you heard anything from the Austin bunch? You want me to extend the invite if I can get hold of them?

George, I could care less if your ride isn't a 928. I just want to check out that beautiful beast in person!!!!!!!! Looked at some pics last spring of it, and WOW, what a car. Hope to see you there in June.

Jay,
Got in touch with Dave of the Austin 928 Club. He said: sounds good and he would spread the word to the rest of the sHARk drovers.
For my part I am truly interested in meeting some of the Texas 928 folks and picking their brains on major repair qualified shops in Texas. Interestingly, wether we bust the 25+ rolling sHARk number in one place or not
it will still be a sizeable herd and a event worthy of note. Time for me to brush off the ole'Canon T-70. Now if I can only mouch a video cam..... BTW I would like to make assurances at this time that:
I am positive no one will do anything to irritate the local constabulary with multi-directional moving violations on the way out of town after gluing pictures of your sHARk to all the cars in the Police Dep't parking lot - with your address printed in red.
Trust me on this... just a rumor.
On another note have you got a spot picked out for a MASS sHARk School/pod picture?
You know some exotic Arkansas location where we can make flicks suitable for framing?
Again, Jay, let me reassure you that we will not in any way condone mass doughnut burning on the local highschool or college football fields nor Poker runs thru the cemetaries all of that is, also, pure rumor.
I think...
Later,
Keep em' rolling.

Just got back into town about an hour ago.

A very nice place - picked up copies of the menu as well as services offered. Took some pics of the rooms, entrance, dining room, and the 4th floor bar (now ttthhhiiisss is the place! . After taking a tour, and getting answers to my questions (like reserved/protected parking, and facilities) I am satisfied that this is THE place to stay. The only downside is that we can't dine there for the Evening meal on Saturday - but that should not be a problem. Also checked into the on-site health spa in case there are wives/girl friends/SO's/etc not interested in making the 'Dyno' run. A very nice place. Additionally, there is a Trolley Car tour available for those that stay behind that will transport them from the front of the Hotel thru the entire City - for a measly sum of $3.50/person - all day long.

I have set up a block of rooms at the Crescent Hotel (http://www.crescent-hotel.com/home.htm) The 'Shark' (George included!) rates are $109/King/night and $99/@ Doubles/night.

Then I toured the route to the Dyno place - about a 45 minute jaunt from the Hotel - nice roads - nice twisties, a couple of Straight aways, and a 'weigh scale' along the way. My plan is to drive to the Dyno - weigh-in on the way - do the Dyno's - with actual car weight - and save the data to a disk for each individual. When we get back to the Hotel, they will let me upload the disk and print out a 'Dyno Certificate' for each person with their cars' Dyno Chart, actual Car data, and a pic of them on the Dyno. Should be suitable for framing later

On Sunday - there is a Champagne Brunch available as well - but this is Arkansas, no bubbly until after noon

My better half has volunteered to co-ordinate the Ladies who are interested in staying behind during the Dyno run for massages/shopping. The Health Spa would like to know how many would be interested in their services.

The run back to the hotel can either be on the same road, or another route - I checked the alternate route - I felt that there may be too much traffic for some to be comfortable with - but we can decide that at another time.

That's about it for the time being - except-

John - great info. Hope some can make the jaunt. Would love to see some more specimens! Havne't singled out a special spot yet for the group pic - but it'll come. btw - I've already alerted the local fuzz - they know my car - and they'll be looking for their 'special donation' at the end of the event

George - come on up big fella! We'd love to have ya!

Now it's time for a brew.

The Crescent Hotel is located atop the highest point in Eureka Springs. Built in 1886, a very nice Victorian Style Hotel (with an open spiral stair case).

We throw it to the locals during the parade lap through town.
