Jay, either weekend sounds good to me. Would be cool to hear all of those sharks rumbling around and intimidating the street rodders.

Jay,
I'm with Snow,
If we can find a place to crash, figuratively speaking, I'm happy.
Two hour, rotating, guard duty if necessary.
I go with the majority on this one.

Okay....spent some time on the phones, and looked a bit closer to the calendar.

This is what I found out/determined....

6/15 - potentialy bad - Father's Day weekend. That being said - looks like the 22nd is the best bet - and the date I'm working on.

In as far as lodging is concerned - no problem. The City has plenty of rooms available (spoke with the events co-ordinator as well as the lead person for the Street Rods tonight).

So far - this is what it looks like:

Friday - show up, meet & greet, dinner and more meet & greet.

Saturday - fun run to the Dyno runs and Lunch. After Dyno runs - fun run on nice roads back to town for the parade followed by dinner. Additional meets & greets after dinner for those so inclined.

Sunday - breakfast - followed by a tech session, then a tour down the Arkansas Autobahn...and depart for our respective stompin' grounds.

Well - thats' what it looks like so far....any comments? (okay - be constructive here!)

Looks like a hectic schedule - I agree. But I think it is doable - just need an idea of how many would like to come.

Oh yeah, hard candy is required for the parade thru downtown to throw to the locals - they LOVE it!

There will be some commemorative (sp?) trinkets that will be available - along with a few suprises for all (good one's I promise!)

Let the event be known as the Mid-West Shiver - aka Sharks in the Ozarks! Pass this on to those you know - it will be more fun with more attending!

I'm intersted in Sharks in the Ozarks...considering I'm only 1 state away I'd consider a pre-run weekend to weed out the details.

The State Troopers cars are white with blue insignia, usually Ford Crown Vics (although there is the ocassional Chebby Camaro. The run 'Ka' type radar.

Local Sherrif Cars run K band radar - and color/make vary from one County to the next.

Arkansas Autobahn - the new I-540. Awesome road (with a tunnel for a little exhaust note fun). True Interstate road - 4 lane divided - only a couple of years old with nice sweeping turns.

Currently putting together the route for the best twisty run on other roads in the area.

QC - the distance from Madison, WI would be approximately 660 miles one way (a good days drive).

Snowy - that atlas is definitely in need of replacement. I-540 has been open now for at least 3 years - no longer under construction - and a real nice road.

Jay,

Please send the particulars to dpw928@prodigy.com. I will try to keep my mother out of the hospital for this one. BTW have you told John McDermitt about this outing?

Jay, if you're trying to get an idea if the amount of interest, you can count me as probably going to be there.

Quick Carl:

I don't know if you're aware of it or not, but we have a group of 928 owners from the Illinois/Wisconsin area that gets together ocassionally.

Sounds like things are beginning to warm up for the together.

Mike - great to hear you can make it.

Dennis - I'll email you directly with some info.

So far - maybe 15 cars at this point. That's a good start - I'm centering my plans around 25 cars - that leaves at least 10 to go. I will post this info directly to the rennlist board once I get the final details in line and the website up and running.

Talking

Snow,
Will June be late enough for you?
When does the snow, finally, melt up-there?
Sorry, our Swedish contact couldn't get the part numbers for the 928 SnowShark Ski-Do Kit and he said he planned on hogging the entire Swedish Bikini Team to himself.
I think he's lost the gift of giving, so...
maybe you'll luck out next year.
Have a good one everybody.

Cool

Snow,
You DEVIANT... Why didn't I think of that. Then again Pattaya Beach, Thailand it ain't .
Pattycakes does hold a FINE SHINE though, so you better git crackin'.
Unfortunately, I'm taking hits down here. Another Geezer tagged the front end and my right rear has a scratch /dent that cost the Fat lady with two shopping carts alot of resale value on the ole Sienna - I haven't been arrested yet. 'OLD' or not I focus in the WRONG way when it comes to P'cakes. My son Zack - age 14 - took an earful... I was letting him do the morning walk around, fluid checks, and start-up. He decided to bring it around front - I do admire initiative - but he ran the right side tires and wheels down the
cul-de sac curb and is my humbled slave for the rest of his natural life.
I hope to have the wheels re-anodized by June. A word to the wise on tire pressures.
I got to thinking Ed and others might be right on using Porsches recommended tire pressures. My 'Euro' Dunlops recommend 51psi max. I was running 47psi front, 44 rear.
When I went to the Porsche recommendation I pretty well hosed the set. New ones for the Ark. trip. Also looking for a cargo cover and new mats for the event.
Remember grasshopper, Wax on, Wax off.
