Interesting.. I had slight amounts of oil around the plugs in cylinders 3 and 7 (very end of the beru plug connectors had some oil on them), so it sounds like I've got the same slight leak from the valve cover gasket.

I've been ordering up parts for my intake refurb, and after reading the above, am thinking it may make sense to replace the valve cover gaskets and spark plug seals at the same time, and get the valve covers powder coated the same as my intake.

Are there any other bits of rubber that need to be changed while the valve covers are off? Can valve covers be taken off with the intake in place?

Actually the dielectric of oil is lower than rubber. The oil wicks up the plug and provides a path for those pesky electrons. Had the exact same thing happen on my F150.

Sean, let's get this sorted out. I want to have my intake done, and cam covers. I'll work with Roger to get the stuff we need.

I agree.

I am assuming we will both need the chain tensioner guides. I've never had my covers off but after seeing some that have had, they look pretty worn.
