Greasing ball joints
Hi all, Happy Holidays.
Been on vacation all week and spending alot of time in garage working on the 83. Have replaced timing belt, water pump and rebuilt tensioner and now moved on to brakes and wheel bearings.
Couple of questions. How do you repack upper and lower ball joints with grease ? Next can joints and tierod ends be drilled to accept grease zerks ? Have found nothing in the manuals about this. I have done this on other cars and have had no ill effects.
I have searched the arcives but haven't found anything.
Just like to Thank everyone for this great site and all the information it contains.

I don't think you want to repack the lower ball joints.
Have you replaced the aluminum ones with the later steel ones?
The Aluminum ones are known to fail with out much warning. Very good idea to replace them.
It's not hard, just 3 bolts. The only real trick is removeing the old ball joints. If you want to save the boot, you can't use the stirup type splitter.
