Those sturdy 928 plastic doors
I think it's common knowledge that our plastic doors (arm rests) are destined to break and require either replacement or reinforcement with big a$$ washers. I've gotten to the point where I would rather just buy a whole new driver's side arm rest assembly.
I see that Pelican and 928 International sell door parts but I can't tell if they sell the arm rest a.k.a. the plastic part that contains the interior handle, air vent and mirror control.
Anyone know if/where this can be purchased, and how much they might cost?

Per 928 International Catalog (are you sitting down?)....
Arm Rest with Map Pocket (p/n 928.555.901) -
new (hold on here) - $1450
used (not much better) - $200

Call me cheap but I removed mine repaired them with fiber glass. One of my holes was completely gone and I was able to refabricateit drill a new hole and grind it to fit perfectly. Use two layers of cloth and a lot of resin.
Good Luck

The two holes right behind the inside handle no longer exist. I have a bolt with a long metal strap rigged to hold that part of the arm rest down but I know that it can not last forever.
The only hole that isn't broken or gone completely is the one in the air vent at the front of the door. The holes in the map pocket are cracked but still hanging on.
It looks like I'm in the hunt for a used one
($1450??????? It looks like Porsche and its OEM knew that thing would fail and be in high demand).

There is a pair on ebay right now. Burgandy, but some SEM spray colorant can make them Black for you. Looks like the auction ends in plenty of time for you to get involved, look for item #598973513. They are being sold by Chris Ford - he's a fellow shark owner in good standing up in the Pac NW.

Thanks for the info!
With the cost of undamaged units costing so much, I wonder why the opening bid is so low ($19). Is there any difference between the S and the S4 arm rests?
I'm looking into the possibility of using epoxy modeling to fix my current units. I kept the parts that were broken off so it shouldn't be difficult to make a quick effective fix.

928 International doesn't specify a model year - and I really don't know for certain if there is a diff between the S and the S4 door panels.
Maybe someone else knows for certain. I'd personally take the gamble if they don't shoot up over a C note.

On repairing the broken tabs on these door
panel(and other plastic) I use a product
called Plast-Aid.
I think it's an acrylic and very similar or
the same as what nail salons use, and dentist
use something similar for making molds of some sort ( dentist stuff is pink though).
I've used this stuff on this specific repair
and it hold up very well.
