As you guys have probably read I've been having a problem with my central lock system ( https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/382707-central-door-lock-problems.html ). This seems to be a nagging problem for a lot of us. I just installed a alarm that has remote lock and unlock. I've got the central lock system 1/2 working now and I could live with it the way it is if I have to but I would like to have remote locking and unlocking on my 81. Has anyone removed or disabled the central locking system and installed door lock actuators to do this? Is there a way to do this with the central locking system? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Jason

Hi Jason:
The later model 928s have different types of lock actuators - instead of a motor it seems to be magnetic. And it's sooo much more reliable! I remember how tricky it was to adjust the driver side lock motor on my first 928 - an 88 S4.
Maybe there is a way to upgrade from your lock motors to the magnetic lock actuators?
Somebody here should know...
