95 GTS brake job cost?
What's a fair price for having the brakes replaced on a 95 GTS. Brake light has come on a car I'm about to purchase.
Thanks in advance

I guessing at best that is probably all that is needed. I'll know more after it get's it pre-purchase inspection but wanted a general idea of the cost involved.
Thanks

Front brake rotors: $179.20 each (2) = $345.80
Rear brake rotors: $98.90 each (2) = $197.80
Front brake pads: unknown
Rear brake pads: $38.70 a set
So, for parts alone you are looking at $582.30 plus whatever your front brake pads cost. I assume about 4 hours of labor at whatever the going rate is in your area $65-90/hr.
All parts prices are from Pelican Parts
-Edit: Make sure you get your brake fluid flushed at the same time. It is very important!

I would recommend trying 928 Specialists out for a better deal on the pricing of these components.
When I upgraded my fronts to the cast hole GTS rotors/calipers, rear hole rotors, and new pads all the way around the cost way very reasonable. (For example - the rear rotors where ~$89 each).

Thanks to all for your help. Mike...although the car is safely tucked away till I scoop it up I can say it's white ext/tan leather w/ 26k miles, auto, original owner asking in the mid $40's sitting in perfect condition.

If you need the rotors replaced - which would surprise me at that low mileage - make sure you don't get any cheap aftermarket rotors. I've experienced them on two cars now, and in both cases it was impossible to keep the brakes from squeaking. Once replaced with the "right" stuff, the squeak went away...

I would like to re-enforce what Nicole has to say. You won't need rotors unless
1. The pads wore down and the rivets on the backing ruined the rotors.
2. They are warped for some crazy reason. Tracked maybe.
3. They are out of wear tolerances. See #2.
