didn't think the s4 came out until 86-87. Were Euro models different?

 

I haven't looked at this one, but there was an '80 on eBay that had the aftermarket bumper covers that look much like an S4.

 

Yeah, the S4 designation was applied to the back bumper after the fact, along with the wing, and the wheels, etc.

 

Haven't seen the E-bay item yet, but if the car is light blue, then I know a little about it. The former owner had it at SITM last year. Later on I was thinking of buying it for my wife, but she decided she didn't want it. '80 Euro 5 speed, rebuilt engine @ 50K, interior kinda worn out, S4 updated front and rear, BBS wheels???? Why would someone rebuild the motor in their Euro S at 50,000 miles? I would run away from this car unless they rebuilt the motor to upgrade the performance. Our 928 engines don't need to be rebuilt at such short service intervals and the rebuild of a motor with so few miles would be a tell-tale sign of abuse or poor maintenance.
