Outside temperature display...
My own shows waaay too low temperatures; reporting below-freezing temps in the middle of summer (contrary to popular belief, not all Scandinavian countries have polar bears roaming the streets and icebergs in lakes all year round...
)Just wondering if this might interfere with A/C and interior temperature control, as I have some issues with this (A/C not cooling very well, heater mostly being too hot - could perhaps be explained by the car thinking it's colder than it actually is)
Cheers,
Erling
To check connections or replace you need to remove the mirror glass. Search & you'll find instructions for removal.

If your heater seems to be on all the time, at least to some extent, the most likely culprit is the heater control valve under the air filter box. It controls the flow of coolant from the engine through the heater box in the dash. If instead you have a problem where the AC only works when the AC controller temp slider is all the way to the left and otherwise you get full heat, this almost always indicates that the exterior temp sensor for the AC system is faulty. It's located in the front area of the front left side wheel well behind the headlight. It could be the inside temp sensor as well, located in the dash and obstructed by the console, but they don't fail as often. There is a procedure to determine which sensor is faulty, but on the surface it sounds like your heater control valve is suspect.
I'm actually waiting for a replacement heater valve which I hope will solve, or at least help with the situation.
Symptoms-wise, I have a bit of both of what you describe; with the AC off and the temp slider all the way to the left, I still get hotter-than-ambient air through the center vent. Moving the slider to the right, with or without AC on sometimes works more or less as intended, at other times, moving it even 1 mm to the right results in very hot air.
Will get the heater valve replaced as soon as possible and then take it from there.
Cheers,
Erling
