PO had S4 8 inch rims mounted with 225/50 16
The manuals show the S4 used 245/45 16 on the 8 inch rims, Should I leave these on or should I replace them with new tires ? They are brand new.
Car is 83S
Thanks
Richard

The overall rolling diameter is almost exactly the same.
Check here: <a href="http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html" target="_blank">http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html</a>
If you don't mind the look and handling of those skinny tires, I'd say run 'em 'til you need new ones.
Personally, I like wide rubber (I've got 275/40/17 on the rear).

thanks for the input,
Randy I think I'll take your advise and keep them until I find a new rim I like and then put new tires on. thanks
