Post Why won't my AC condensate drain?!!!

Is there some trick to getting the evaporator condensate to drain out the bottom of the car? I swear, I have run stuff through the line and even put compressed air into the drain line on the driver's side. Still, no drip while the AC is running.

Eventually the tank overflows onto the floor!

It is 90 degrees here now and I want to use the AC, but this is a real PITA!

You could use some of the excess boost to run a pump and draw it out <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
You mean you want power and comfort?

Sorry... Couldn't resist. <img border="0" alt="[icon107]" title="" src="graemlins/icon107.gif" />

Wish I could help.

AFAIK, the drain is on the tunnel, above the TT, under the center console, pretty far forward and toward the PS of center.

It's kinda hard to find but it's about 3/4 dia. rubber tube. It's been a while since I've actually been there but I think the DS thing may be something else??

Thanks for the info...I'll check there to see. All of the boost goes straight into the motor, without exception!

Not certain about the early models, but on the S4 models, you have to drop the Cats (uhhh....if their still there) and the heat shield to access the drain.

Are you sure it is "overflowing" from the housing and not a cracked housing to begin with?
This will put water on your feet and may not drain out where it is supposed to.

Cool

Why do you want to fix that drain?

I mean...I kind of like cold water poured onto my feet! Especially since I typically drive in sandals or bare feet-

Really, I still don't have a clue where that tube is. I looked all over for it a few months ago during the great "steering rack/motor mount incident" when I had the car up on stands in the garage.

Someone post a picture please- the manuals kinda sorta don't cover this...though I suspect mine is missing.

N!

Normy, it's just not the sort of thing that you can get a camera closed to, more a find-by-feel thing (turn the lights out-might be easier :-P)
